We had a fun weekend!! Yesterday we went Snorkeling at Eilat! My grandma's fiance told me about this place during this awkward family dinner before I left. He said it was top notch, so I was super stoked. It was about a four hour bus ride, and we had to leave the JC at 6:00 am. Despite the early hour, it was the best bus ride ever! I got to sit next to Daniel and snooze. When we got to the nature park we were met by the lifeguards, who sat us down and laid down the law. We were only allowed to enter the Red Sea at the two ramps which were about a football field apart. We were roped off from the actual reef, and could not go deeper then 20 feet. At least they didn't require us to wear lifejackets! At this point I became extremely worried that our limited trip would be LAME! The last time I went snorkeling at a reserve with so many restrictions, I didn't see very much, and got peed on by a little boy... anyways! Dan and I had the second shift for snorkels as we only rented enough for half of the group to go at one time. When it was our turn, the current was going really strong, it was windy and the waves were lapping up on the ramp. Dan was a little hesitant, but we dragged Joe Ludlow, one of the center kids in with us and they did just great! The visibility was great, and the reef was so well protected, we were able to see so many fish! The corals were beautiful, and there were so many varieties! Some that I've only seen in videos. It was a lovely day, and my future bonus-gpa was right, the snorkeling was awesome, way better then I ever expected. We probably were in the water for 3 of the 4 hours we were at the beach. After that we enjoyed some crazy rest-stop restaurant fried food. Fried chicken, french fries and rice! YUM CARBS! We got home late, showered and crashed in our beds to get some rest so we would be prepared for our field trip today!
Today we squished the olives that we spent six hours picking last week picking. It was a jolly good time. I'll have to post pictures to better describe how it works, but let's just say this was a fun activity. The faculty's kids loved it! They were running around chasing students with their grimmy oily hands! hahaha I did get slimed, but hopefully I can get the stains to come out. Our wardrobes are already so limited! It was a blast, and will take another two weeks to finish the process.
